Oh my gracious, my beautiful daughter is growing like crazy! It’s wonderful and awful and amazing and terrible and exciting and scary and fantastic.
I made this cutie owl felt applique last year. But somehow the 12-month size turtleneck doesn’t quite fit the almost-two-year-old before me!
So I just cut out the little owl… [I also am thinking the neck could become a headband and the sleeves could become leg warmers, non?!]
…And hand-stitched him to a new size 3T long sleeved t-shirt. [There, take that, time that passes TOO quickly!] I adore these little white t-shirts from Wal-Mart. They have an adorable lettuce hem and cuffs, and they are cheap as chips ($3.88 each, if memory serves). I love using them when I make applique tops, and they are the same kind I used for that little scarecrow applique last month.
Wheeeeeeee! So I’m thinking someone may want to know how to make the skirt and/or the owl? Tutorials are coming! Double wheeeeeee!

Don’t you just love making something old new again? [Me too!] If so, you might like these posts…
