Well you know me, it’s tough to keep things the same. I love a little (or a big) change every now and again.

So, although I am still loving the yellow chevron initial “wreath” on the front door, I decided it was time for a little tweak.

Here’s how I did it:

Measure the diameter of a bowl (that’s from one side to the other for all my non-mathy friends out there).

Then mark half that distance from the corner up the side and towards the middle of your “wreath.” That way, you will get a perfect quarter-round curve cut-out in each corner. [I started with a cereal bowl, but decided on a bigger soup bowl.]

Next, line up the edge of your bowl with the marks and score a cut line (I’m using foam core, so scoring is better than just marking then cutting, but you can mark then cut, too).

Then, cut out the curved corners.

I decided I probably should have used the cereal bowl after all… But rather than trim the flat edges to make the curves not so big, I added black polka dotted washi tape to each of the straight sides instead. Everything is better with polka dots, right?!

So there you have it!

A simple little update, and now we are ready for the sunny days of summer, huzzah!
