You know that cute little green cardi Sis was wearing in Monday’s post?
Yep, that’s the one.
She’s had it for a year or two now.
It’s one of her faves, such a great color and so soft…
And–like the pants from Monday’s post–this cardigan is also upcycled from my closet… though not quite in the way you might expect…
You see, this cardi was ACCIDENTALLY upcycled.
Yes, my lovely, soft, grass green cashmere jcrew cardi, my favorite cardi–the one that added a sense of polish to my baggy-eyed newborn mama sleep-deprived days–
–the one that my baby girl once nuzzled next to–
–the one she’d stroke and say, “soft”–
…got washed and dried one day.
WUPS.
BUT… it wasn’t ruined…
…just resized for a much smaller person…
And thankfully I had just such a one on hand. She even makes washing my favorite cashmere cardi seem like a good idea in the end. I just love that girl!
Anyway, the same can be true of our lives. Maybe you’re feeling a bit washed up and ruined, useless now to fulfill your purpose? God might just have a fresh path in mind for you, beauty for your ashes (Isaiah 61), a way to take what you thought was ruined and turn it into something useful and beautiful and amazing and wonderful.
Won’t you pause for a moment right now and ask Him to reveal that hope to your heart today? …Might be just glorious, wheeee!
Thanks for the lovely reminder at the end of your post. It spoke right to me this morning!

Precious. 🙂 Thanks for sharing. We’re endevering on “new” ground as we speak… Waiting on Him for the next step in that “fresh path” but, it sure is that Hope, that keeps us waiting to see what’s next!

Am currently undergoing chemo for ovarian cancer and am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Just haven’t quite figured out what the reason is yet, waiting for perspective. Thank you so much for my daily find to that reason and to personal growth.
