I was admiring a girlfriend’s skirt last week when she told me it used to be a dress, but the small triangle top was not working for her, so she cut it off. Voila, instant skirt!
Of course, a couple days later that had me eye-balling my closet in a new light. i pulled this simple navy jersey dress out and knew it was a perfect candidate for the update.
Since it had a shirred waist (that used to hit right below my chest), I knew I could cut it off just above the shirring and have a lovely cute-and-comfy skirt.
The makeover took all of thirty seconds.
The ruffle at the bottom has just the right amount of flounce for me. And now the skirt is a smidge longer (since the waist hits at my actual waist, not just under my chest), which I also love.
Add a white tank & cute necklace, and it might just be a perfect summer outfit. *Ahhhhhhhhhhh*
And fast and FREE? Well, that makes this mama one happy camper! Wheeeee!
Okay, so seriously, have I won you to the dark side yet? Have you taken scissors to any old clothes?! Do tell!

I just did this and blogged about it! I found a maxi dress at thrift that showed way too much skin, but with a few snips of the scissors, it’s a great skirt. Love your version.

I have notices lots of distressed jeans, have you ever done a DIY video showing how to distress jeans? What’s the cut off age for sporting those jeans?
