Here we are, a brand new year! Chock full of possibility! It feels like everyone gets to start over, a free do-over, wheeee! So it’s new year’s resolution time…

However… after a few years of resolutions made and soon forgotten, it seems like along with the new year’s resolutions come the specter of past ones broken, that nagging feeling of failure to come.

But whatever your past failures, whatever your future hopes, there is one resolution that you can keep this year because as you do it, you gain strength from Him to do it. And by this one resolution, the success of so many others, past and present and future, suddenly (and over time) become possible.

Here it is:

“If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me” (Jeremiah 29:13).

“From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us” (Acts 17:26-27).

“Those who seek me will find me” (Proverbs 8:17b).

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord” (Psalm 31:24).
