Okay, we already know I’m a weirdo… posting an exTREMEly unflattering early morning photo of myself… letting a film crew and a ukelele-playing Aussie loose in my house…
…But I gotta tell you: that’s not the half of it.
Can I just say, I LOVE to watch my children eat.
Crazy, right?
Specifically, I love to watch them feed themselves…
…There’s just something amazing and wonderful and lovely to me about how a little person who started out not being able to do anything for himself can, over time, learn to pick up a utensil, scoop up a bite, and transport it to his mouth.
…I dunno, maybe I love it because it is such a neat everyday picture of what we do in our walks with Jesus, what He enables us to do as we read His Word and spend time with Him.
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!” (Psalm 34:8).
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good” (1 Peter 2:2-3).
“But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil” (Hebrews 5:14).
Praying you choose to feed yourself today with God’s Word.
{And if you don’t have a church home or are not able to get out today, won’t you join me here and we can worship together with all the other crazy, wonderful, imperfect people?}
