I am one who likes to get things done. Inspiration strikes and I jump on it. But sometimes…
It rains almost every day since I set out to paint the china cabinet…
…And the dining room chandelier is missing one shade…
…because I have affixed a scrap of fabric to it using blue tape so I can stare at it with my head cocked to one side a bit longer to decide if I like it.
Thank God I have an understanding husband. [The husband of a crafty breed is an understanding man indeed.]
Sometimes life is not about getting it done, but just making a bit of progress.
It’s a picture of my life: I am not yet perfected in Christ, but I am here trying to fulfill what He has for me.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12-14).
So friends, any projects you have, um, ahem, in “progress”?
