When you see a painting you love, why not consider DIYing it? That way, you can personalize it and save some moula, too!

My girlfriend Jennifer was redecorating her son’s room in a sophisticated nautical theme. And I was totally digging seeing her cute pins.

So when I saw this cute print by Wayne Pate, I thought it was a perfect candidate to be hacked for her little boy!

It was a simple enough form to pull off, and I aged and weathered the canvas a bit… like it had been subjected to a little salt air!

I also used a crackle finish on it (you can get a little bottle of it cheap in the acrylic craft paint section of your craft store).

And the little gull was ready to go, wheeeee!
