So we were mailing a little happy to my sweet niece Iris. I wrapped the gift (a giant sticker book–shhh! don’t tell) in purple kraft paper. [This wrapping paper has the great weight of thick brown kraft paper, perfect for mailing, but it is a lovely purple on one side.]
But it needed something to make it more fun and festive. So since I was in a patchwork frame of mind after making the patchwork twirly knot dress, I knew just what to do!
I pulled out a few sheets of scrapbooking paper from my craft arsenal and cut several rectangles from them. Then all that was left was to arrange the pieces and then use wide clear masking tape to secure the patchwork “quilt” in place (and reinforce the package edges while I was at it).
[Scrapbook paper is certainly not just for scrapbooks…
…It can be used all sorts of ways!]
It doesn’t take much to make something extra special, maybe just a visual way to deliver the “hugs” you’d rather give in person.
[Meanwhile, I think a whole canvas mod podged with little scrapbook paper rectangles of all colors and sizes could be just glorious… Hmm…]
Wheeeeeee!
