My friend Katie is gifted and artsy and one of the kindest souls I know. She and her husband serve the church at Mercy Hill in Memphis, TN, where her husband is the lead pastor.
So when she posted this photo of her middle son on facebook a couple of months ago, guess what caught my attention?
Yu-huh! That fantastic chalk art in the background!!
She rescued this frame from the garbage, then cut and chalkboard-painted a piece of wood to fit its dimensions. And her “font” is so deliciously and perfectly imperfect that I have to stop myself from gushing every time I look at it!
Well done, Katie! I love it, and YOU ARE BRILLIANT!!
If YOU want to be considered for a spot in My Brilliant Friends Week 2015, drop me a message over on facebook, m’kay? That’s be fun, wheeeee!
And in other news, I’m thrilled to officially announce the winner of the Matilda Jane $50 giftcard:
Congratulations to Sandy T. of Kenly, NC!! She wrote, “OMGoodness.. I am super excited. I am a teacher and a mother of two adult boys and 3 grandchildren. 2 are boys and I finally have a GIRL!!!! Can you tell I’m excited about that? The boys are 10, 5 and she is 4 and definitely a mini-me. I am from NC and I stay healthy by walking and doing Zumba 2 times a week. Dressing that girl is one of the highlights of my life. YEAH!!!!!!!!”
I love a girl who has as much a love for exclamation marks as I. Yay, you, Sandy! Enjoy picking out some cuteness!
