Y’all might remember the aqua blue chair makeover I shared back in May during “my brilliant friends week.” Well, my brilliant friend Susanna has been at it again!
She had this fabulously worn old window that was ready for reinvention.
A little sanding and caulk removing, and it was ready for some gel stain.
Susanna taped off the windows and donned plastic gloves. [She’s so smart! I would have been walking around with stained brown hands for sure.]
She used General Finishes Gel Stain in “java.”
Remember, wood likes it when you paint with the grain.
Wipe off the excess.
Now it’s ready for paint!
Que the Olympic satin finish paint in “honey pot.” No need for perfect coats–this finish is destined for a little sanding!
A sanding around the edges and high spots gives it a perfect finish!
And she’s ready to hang!
This little beaut is going over Susanna’s piano in her office. Now THAT’s something to sing about! Wouldn’t you feel happy just looking up at this piece? I know I would!
