My parents-in-law got this cute little vacation home last year, and it is close enough that they can get away for a weekend whenever they want.
I caught wind that Janet had wanted to get Burr a painting of their little cottage for Christmas, but her plan fell through…
So I got her daughter to email me a picture of it on the down low and set to work.
I tried to include all the details, including the house numbers and bay window…
…the shutters and the brick chimney.
You know how much I love to do a house painting for someone I know it will make happy!! [Remember the little storybook cottage? And the boat portrait?] And since apparently I was in house-painting mode, this became a pretty opportunely-timed gift idea!
I debated adding the sentiment… and in the end went for it! “Meet me at the Acre” captures the spirit and heart of their special getaway spot that they love to share with their children and grandchildren.
And we might actually have created a gift that is almost equal to the epic awesomeness of this mama/grandmama’s PhD in gift selecting and giving. Yay!
It is perfect and we were sssooo surprised! You are the best! xoxoxo
